What is InterVarsity Graduate Christian Fellowship?

Our GCF Vision at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

We're a community of Christian graduate students who encourage one another to remain faithful to Christ with our hearts, minds, souls and strength. We seek to love and serve one another and to encourage each other to grow in the humility of Christlikeness. We strive to glorify Christ with our gifts and abilities and to be stewards of our privileges and responsibilities for the Kingdom of God. We encourage and train one another to be Christ's witnesses in the spheres where God has placed us.

With 135 other InterVarsity graduate Christian fellowships we share these four ministry commitments:

  1. Spiritual Formation
  2. Christian Community
  3. Integration of Faith and Learning
  4. Evangelism and Service

For an explanation of these four components see our Ministry Commitments.

GCF is a trans-denominational fellowship of graduate students which seeks to engage the campus in all of its ethnic and academic diversity with the gospel of Jesus Christ and develop disciples.

A more complete statement of the vision and doctrinal basis of InterVarsity can be found on the InterVarsity website.

We are not a church or denomination, rather, our members come from a wide variety of church backgrounds, and attend different churches in the area.
